Regenerative charging wiring
« on: April 10, 2010, 05:53:31 PM »
Hey guys... Can someone tell me if I am on the right way, or am I gonna fry everything?
Any of you tried to connect it without the diodes?

Assuming this is done because the battery has separate charging wires, the direction of the diodes seems okay to me.

And no, I haven't tried that without the diodes as I have a regular GM pack.

Ok... Can anyone give me a block scheme of a GM battery? I really want someone to confirm my wiring, before I connect the LiFePo4 battery...

Also-what is the range of GM battery 48V12Ah-with Magic Pie?

I bought a ping battery and all I needed to do was use one diode in the black main power lead and then conect the black recharge lead to the end of the diode. I will see if I can find the circuit diagram.

I'm using the 48V 12aH on my Magic Pie and at 80-100% throttle with peddling it lasted about 37 km. Thats just a real world stat for the area I was riding in. I bet if I slowed down and used 50% motor and 50% muscle I could go 40+ Km.

35km with consideration, 22km full power and no pedalling on 48v 12ah (approx)
