Title: GoldenMotor Teaser/Trailers for the Magic Pie
Post by: GoldenMotor on June 11, 2009, 05:18:15 AM
Hello guys, it's me again.

The Magic Pie prototype has performed unreasonably well, mainly due to the 48V12AH Battery Prototype.
The bike in the video was an old frame, Motor was MP4810 (Magic Pie 48V 1000W), Battery was 48V12AH.

If you cannot play the video, google "VLC media player" and install that player, GM recommends.

We had it tested in TaiHu, ChangZhou, with the breathtaking view of mountains and crispy trees. Air was fresh in the morning, with the smell of the ripe Bayberries fruits. The video shows only half of the FIVE laps we rode across this 13KM track. After 5 laps, the motor was hot, with the controller inside it and everything, but it still went on. So we decided to push it's limits. Me, 170lbs, sat on the battery pack of the bike while my colleague rode in the front, we climbed a 20degree slope for about 20 minutes before the Controller Protection System cut off the power from the battery. After resetting the system, the bike still worked normally, and we both rode back down the slope to TOM, where we stopped testing and concluded success. My personal experience was that this motor was much stronger than the ones before, probably due to the 48V battery. When I was riding downhill, the tail wind drove me up to at least 60MPH, where the bike suspension and the sliding rack was making noises. So I think this will quench the thirst for speed for some of you guys out there, but seriously, why so serious? about the speed. It felt extremely dangerous especially because the bike frame couldn't handle that kind of speed. Oh well, it's just my personal comment. Mass production will begin next week, so the Magic Pie will be on sale in 3 to 4 weeks time if all goes well. Also notice that the design of the Pie makes it look like a Rolls Royce jet engine when it spins, because we made it that way. Bleah~!

I'd like to see it tested in the early afternoon on a very hot day. Can you guys do that test and post the results? Thanks!

Yao is the Magic Pie any louder than your previous motors ?
It seemed the motor noise in the video as the bike passed the camera was fairly noticable, audible over the wind noise.

I doubt so, the Magic Pie is not as loud as the previous ones.
