In a Smartpie4 "kit" what is the large thin metal washer for? 2-3 mm thick with large ID.   What is the smaller 3\4" plastic ring for? It has 3 squares on ring all plastic, looks handlebar size.  Thanks.

The spacer (large washer) is sometimes needed to space the freewheel away from the hub, but as all freewheels tend to vary, you may not need to use the spacer.

The plastic ring that you are describing sounds like the spacer piece that fits into the thumb throttle before the handlebar grip is fitted. If you look closely at the thumb throttle you should be able to see where it fits.
