Title: Howto connect Magic Pie to controller ??
Post by: henning on April 18, 2010, 06:47:49 PM
Hello

I have bought Magic Pie Item #26"FMCHN frontwheel with magicpie

I have problems connecting the magicpie to the controller.

How can I connect the Green, Blue And Yellow vires from the magicpie when they don't exists?

Does anybody have a drawing or picture of how this schould be done?

From the wheel (magicpie) I have two cables, one with 8 thin vires, which I have connected, and one with two thick vires, black and red

I really need help here.

Hi,

The magic on the pie is that the controller is build inside the wheel.
Connect your battery to the thick red and black wire and drive.

Good luck

Hi and(https://i.imgur.com/evDSMvT.png)to the forum Henning,

The Magic Pie's controller can be seen here:

And here is a diagram showing the external connections to the Magic Pie's controller:

Ok, thanks, I will try that.

So the Mb, Mc and Ma (green, blue, yellow) on the BAC-281 is not used?

The BAC-281 is not used at all with the Magic Pie!

??
If it is not used, that explains a lot. :-)

I wonder why I have it (?).

Well, gonna try tomorrow, without the BAC-281 ....

This is all you should need apart from the bike and battery:

Are you sure you have the Magic Pie?

Did you bought it and it came with the external controller?? If that is correct you just received a free controller :D

There is some nomenclature collision here.

There is the Magic Pie which has a controller
integrated into the hub.

There is also the BAC-281 Magic Controller which is the
nifty silver one.  That controller replaced the
earlier ones where you had to get a different
controller if you wanted 24, 36 or 48V.

If Henning has the BAC-281, his motor should
have one long cord coming out that ends in one
white hall sensor plug, and three colored wires.

If he has the Magic Pie wheel, then it has two plugs
as shown in the photo below, one for +/- Battery,
and one for the various inputs like throttle, brake,
and switches.

Did he order a Pie and magic controller?

I like to make those sort of mistakes all the time.  ;D
