Title: Throttle wiring
Post by: Tbnrider on October 03, 2018, 06:54:10 PM
I am in the process of tracking down an intermittent loss of thumb throttle control on a friend's 902 system E-bike. The problem is probably in the wiring harness, which I will look for when I get access to the bike. Currently I suspect a ground wire fault.

But I would like to know exactly what are the connections inside the throttle itself?

I have measured DC resistances between combinations of the red, white and black(ground) wires from the throttle, but moving the throttle lever doesn't seem to change any of these resistances.  So I am at a loss in knowing exactly how the throttle works.

How can I check the proper operation of a thumb throttle by itself (not connected into a system.)

Hi Tbnrider!

Sounds like you might have a hall sensor throttle. If so please take some time to look over my thread on Hall Sensor Throttles! If it doesn't answer all your questions about hall sensor throttles...let me know.  ;)
