e-lock voltage
« on: January 21, 2019, 06:45:54 PM »
For VEC300 controller, the wiring diagram says to use B+ for e-lock connection.  For me that is 72V across the e-lock connection, and most automotive/motorcycle switches are not rated for that high of voltage.  It makes a pretty big spark when I manually contact e-lock with a jumper wire.

Can I supply +12V to e-lock instead of 72V/B+?  Or must I use a relay to avoid running 72V hot wire to my handlebars and finding 72V capable e-lock kill switch?

What are other people using to switch e-lock with vector controller?

And, do you trust e-lock disconnect as failsafe kill switch for runaway?

Thx.
