Title: Do I have to wait for Magic Pie II?
Post by: Bob91403 on August 09, 2010, 10:01:26 PM
What would it take to get a Magic Pie that will handle 60V? Is 48V currently the max. (pun intended)? :D Would an external controller make a difference, or is that 48V max. also? What changes would have to be made?

Hi Bob,
The cutoff built into the controller is 60 volts. The present generation controllers stop operating above that voltage. There are some components that have a 63 volt rating.
You do not need any modifications to run up to 60 volts. You do need to be a responsible adult who is reasonably sober.
Good luck

Reasonably sober? While driving a car when intoxicated is a major offense here. Drunk driving on, even a motorized, bicycle in California is only a $50 fine. :P

No!

The MP can handle voltages up to 110v however the internal controller can not.

Magic Pie, dh bike, 110v, 80kph so far (http://endless-sphere.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=17311)<<<  Find out the Pies great performance on the smaller rim.

You can get an MP with external wires so you can upgrade the controller to 60v at anytime or seek a controller that can do 60v.

The MP motor 26" can do 60v easy. You need to know what you are doing and if not, yes you may need to wait.
