Battery capacity problem
« on: September 27, 2014, 08:03:06 AM »
Hi, I have problems with my battery!
It starts to loose power, now I only come half the distance from what I did when it was new?
it is 6 months old, I have charged it about 100-120 times

What battery do you have? What are the specs?

Probably a damaged cell causing BMS to cut out earlier...

Hi Vralapan andto the forum.

It does sound as if you could have one or more faulty cells in your pack.

Try leaving it on charge overnight and see if it improves. If the cells are out of balance this should help to even them out, but if you have faulty cells it is unlikely to make any noticeable difference.

If the range doesn't improve, you will need to contact your supplying dealer and explain the problem to them.

Hi
its a 48v 10ah battery, last night I the green light went out as sson as I gave full trottle, the battery was fully loaded, but I could use the bike and it took me home but I only used 30-40% trottle, if I gave more the green light cut out.

I would love to contact my dealer, but I bought it direct from goldenmotor and the do not reply my emails :-(

is there any warranty?

just love my bike, and sold my car a few weeks ago, so I depend on my bike...

I would expect he battery to be covered by a 12 month warranty, so try sending an email to David (wyh@goldenmotor.com) and see if he can confirm this and advise on any test procedures etc. Keep the email short and simple as he is very busy and is less likely to respond to a complicated email.

It might also be worth contacting your local GM dealer to see if they are able to help with the warranty, or at least confirm whether the problem is covered under warranty or not.
