lifepo4 battery

I was wondering if I can switch a pack of 8 6v batteries for only one lifepo4 48 v 20 amps to power my electric engine for a sail boat.

yes, if 20ah will do, 48 v is 48 v. Depending on your other battery chemistry, you will save weight and space.
But, lifepo is a pack, also.
