cutout while testing
« on: July 13, 2007, 01:24:24 AM »
Good evening to everyone in the group.  This question may have been asked before but I will inquire anyway.  I just installed a 500 watt front wheel drive system.  While testing I noticed that the controller cuts out when I try to accelerate rapidly. Does anyone know the cause of this cutout? Any information appreciated.

Hook a voltmeter and an amp meter up to the battery supply so that you can view it while riding. Dips below controller cut-off can then be monitored: i.e., it may be the result of unconditioned, weak or bad batteries. If not then please post more information.

Check your batteries. Once mine get low, the motor cuts out on hard acceleration. I release the throttle and give it another hit and it works fine. If your batteries are low I am assuming that there is a cutout voltage to keep your batteries from being damaged. What type of batteries are you using?
