VEC 240 CONTROLLER FAILURE ?
« on: February 20, 2018, 09:34:06 AM »
I recently purchased a 3kw motor and VEC 200 series controller which has been installed in a Aprilia SR 50 factory scooter
after 6 weeks of running the controller shut down and left me stranded 5klms from home ( a long hard push).
On investigation the controller was outputting a 7 blinks fault which appears to be a motor phase disconnection.
Further tests on the motor indicates that the motor is OK.
I have since been looking at the VEC controller but have not been able to find any tests to perform to determine if the controller is at fault.
Does anyone have any resistance measurements and or specifications between phases and -ve battery terminal.
I have been in contact with Gary Salo GM Canada who is assisting but due to the Chinese New Year holiday has stalled until March.
Note that the Controller is Numbered as VEC 240 model which does not seem to exist on the golden motor site

Cheers Mick
