Hi all. I need help figuring out how to use a potentiometer instead of a throttle to control the speed on my Smart Pie with external controller. I purchased a 1megaohm pot and tried it but no luck. Help!

Hi and(https://i.imgur.com/evDSMvT.png)to the forum.
A one megaohm pot is too high a resistance to operate the controller.
I would suggest you try a 5k or 10k pot instead.

You can use a regular potentiometer if you place fixed resistors in series with the 5v and ground wires. I would use a 5k pot, but the value is not critical. The fixed resistors for a 5k pot would be about 1.2k each. You want the signal to go from about 1v to 4v with a 5v source.
I've also read where the high should be 4.35 volts or there abouts.
5 volt into Pot on one side tap, signal out on middle tap, and ground to other side tap...
