Took a spill on bike
« on: January 02, 2020, 05:30:22 PM »
This is here folks is about $130 min in damages. $70 @ the bike shop plus $58 for a new throttle after tax and shipping. Basically what happened is I was going @ a good rate of speed, somewhere around 35-40 and on a snow covered sidewalk. I was coming into a bend and wanted to go straight on to the grass vs taking the bend.. This proved to be a mistake. Here is a quick Video of the aftermath. From what I think happened, based on the marks left in the ground and sidewalk. Is that I had one wheel on the ground and the other on the sidewalk. I tried to go straight, and the backwheel caught the edge of the sidewalk sideways and thus why I slide out sideways. The very thing that caused me to wipe out, is the thing that reduced the dmg to me, to nothing more than a light friction burn on my lower leg. That and it was grass and snow vs pavement.
