Hi guys,
This is my noob guide, written by myself, for you guys out there. I will update it from time to time as I gain experience on common difficulties that our users may face. Anyone with better suggestions can e-mail me and your name will be credited on the last page of the updated guide. Enjoy!

Thanks for the great instruction manual! I had to learn all that on my own! lol
What is the correct dirrection for the disc brake? I find them more prone to squealing if installed the way you have it in the picture.

I suggest the disc be flipped around so the ''spokes" are trailing. this seems to work better for me anyway. Anyone else have any suggestions?

Yes, the disc brake direction should be changed, i'll notify the packaging staff to take caution of this. Indeed the disc brake squeaks when fixed in a reverse direction.

There should be arrows on the disc showing the direction. On all of mine, the arrows point with the spokes leading, as shown in the GM manual. If the squeak, remove the pads and apply anti-squeal compound to the back of the pads. Any auto supply store has it.

Great manual, though there are some items for which I need further explanation 7 clarification
3. How to work with throttle malfunctions:
...You can drive your ebike at half speed by depress the cruise control button...
4. How to work with power brake lever malfunction:
...You can drive your ebike at half speed by depress the cruise control button...
with 'depress' you mean 'press the pushbutton' ?
Is the following list of 'beep codes' correct:
1 beep: feedback for setting an operational mode
2 beeps: motor hall-sensor malfunction
3 beeps: throttle (hall-sensor) malfunction
4 beeps: power brake lever malfunction
5 or more beeps: not used
6. Anti-theft alarm setting:
Logically switch off power to motor (called soft-switch, controller is still on) and take out the battery key,
within 10 seconds depress the cruise control button till one beep sound, then release the cruise control
button, the vehicle is now protected from theft and motor is electrically locked. Any small movement of
vehicle will trigger the siren for 30 seconds, and wheel will make resistance from pedaling.
I don't get it - according to my understanding the battery key disconnects the negative battery power line. How can the controller still be powered after the key has been removed? or does the controller have another connection to the negative pole of the battery?
And how the controller senses vibrations - it has no inbuilt sensor? or does it check the induced voltage in the motor when the wheel turns?

If I might add a few grammar notes,
I am not sure of the grammar rule, but in general a sentence should
not start out with "How to" at the front. Try the following instead.
"How to work the [whatever]" is better as "To work the [whatever]"
Usually "how to" is used as something like "I would like to know how to..."
(Even though the internet is full or "HOW TOs" as a title.)
Next, in many cases, "depress" can be replaced with "press," and the
active action is "pressing" (or when appropriate 'depressing')
The rule is basically that if a verb is preceded with 'am' or 'by' or 'is'
it becomes an adverb and you should add 'ing' to the verb.
I run.
I am running.
To stop press the brake pedal.
You stop by pressing the brake pedal.
There are other cases (Pressing the button blows the horn) but
I can't recall the rule for verbs starting a sentence.

6 beeps seams to be (controller over heat or thermal shutdown )
once activated turn all power off on 6 beeps again... turn of power wait 15 mins and turn on if no beeps ride again (but try not to use to much power after this or it will happen again as it will not be cooled properly !
5 beeps not sure been told (Power FET failure but that controler is still going strong uhmmmm)

Yao, the guide has very helpful information.
Please clarify how to make the "Anti-theft alarm" to work. How do you cut off power to the motor with the key in off position and taken out? When My battery is turned off and I Take the key out, the battery does not have any voltage/current come out of the ciruit. Does the controller have a capaciter in it to power the anti-theft alarm and siren?? Is this true for the Magic Pie Controller's too??
Anti-theft alarm setting:
Cut off power supply to motor (called soft-switch, but controller is still powered
on) and take out the battery key, within 10 seconds press and hold the cruise
control button until you hear a beep sound, then release the cruise control button.
The vehicle is now protected from theft and the motor is electronically locked.

You're absolutely right Chris, it really does need updating, but it is still much better than nothing. ;)
DeVi comfort have produced their own installation manual (http://www.devi-comfort.com/motion-uploads/handleiding_DIY_GB_v1.0.5.pdf)which is a bit more up to date, but still shows the earlier type harness.
Gary's post showing the installation of an External MPII (http://goldenmotor.com/SMF/index.php?topic=3571.msg21344;topicseen#msg21344) is also worth reading too.
The new MP4 harness is slightly different to the MPIII diagram shown here:

The MP4 (and SP4) has a 10 pin connector between the main harness and the motor harness and the multiconnector block now looks like this:

Whereas the older MPIII looked like this:

The two cables without connectors fitted will need to be connected as shown in the above diagram if LED lights, horn, pedelec or reverse are required.
If your kit was supplied with a pedelec sensor, you may be lucky enough to find that the connector for the Pedelec sensor (and the reverse function) are already fitted to the motor harness.
If you have purchased the LED light/horn unit at the same time as your kit, you may also find that the connector for the light and horn unit has been pre-fitted too, but this is not always the case. :(
