Title: Update 1812 Issue: Slow Speed on Magic Pie
Post by: GoldenMotor on October 20, 2009, 05:51:39 AM
(This is a secret operation, not even the CEO of GoldenMotor knows about this)
Dear Members,

What is "being Decisive?":

(Real life drama, however not real quotes)
China local time - 1030hours
Hyena : speed's too slow, people not gonna buy them

China local time - 1300hours
Yao : Oh really? Let me check, oh my god the warehouse people sent the old low rpm to you, that's my fault!
Hyena : now what?
Yao : Don't worry!

China local time - 1330hours
(Yao sends an order to EMS, shipped a High Speed Magic Pie, this time no mistakes, maybe at a very expensive 1-day shipping, to Hyena, Australia at 1330)

China local time - 1415hours
(Yao's thoughts: Hey I forgot to do a test, I must videocam it and show evidence to the ES people and Hyena, if not his reputation will be ruined foreva! Yao calls EMS to send the Pie back, picks up a video camcorder and waits for the EMS truck to reach GM headquarters)

China local time - 1720hours
(Everyone but Yao is still in the office, finally finished getting the video up, lousy quality but the point is clear)

Yao: There we go, all nice and fast, and for an extra hint, this is the normal RPM, but relatively higher. Until our Magic Pie Technology is stable, then we will make the High RPM, which goes 30% faster than this one. This one is the one people receive for the first day sale.

China local time - 1815hours, 4 days have passed
Kevin: Hey my Magic Pie is running at 43kph at 48V.
Yao: That's nice to hear, now we have to wait for Hyena's response.

...to be continued

Kevin,

Make sure you connect the battery leads as indicated on the labels, do not go by the wire colours.

If you try to connect it the wrong way around you will get flashes, and that's definitely not good.

Hyena had this problem with his kit. (http://goldenmotor.com/SMF/index.php?topic=1408.msg6821#msg6821)

Perhaps he is talking about the initial surge in power you get when you first connect the power as all the capacitors and circuitry in the controller first power up. If this is the case then that is normal. This can be avoided by using a key switch where it happens inside the keyswitch and you don't see or hear it (or perhaps it doesn't happen at all with a keyswitch). Of course always follow the labelling on the wires also.

Yao;

Looking at your picture below, Red and Black
are well documented colors.

I am curious about how someone decided that
red is negative and black is positive.

This seems like it is a pretty basic trap for
the knowledgeable.

Because the people who soldered the wires were not the people who made the controller.
