Is this new? When we bought on the 20th, Item 7 was promised.  I hope it is shipped, or I won't order anything else from you.

More Details on the Magic Pie:

A) It is a complete wheel set including:
1) Magic Pie Motor dual rimmed with Cast aluminum.
2) Integrated Cruise Controller
3) Regenerative Braking
4) Power Brake Levers
5) Thumb/Twist Throttle (Select One)
6) Cruise Control Button
7) 6Gear Freewheel Sprocket

Optional Item:
B) 140/160mm Disc Brakes (Optional with extra cost)

N.B:
1) Both the Front/Rear wheel have the same price.
2) The throttle controls are connected by wires as Bluetooth testing was not successful. When the Bluetooth battery was low, the motor cannot receive any further signal until battery was replaced.
3) It is direct drive, no gears.
4) There are disc brake mounting points for 140/160mm disc brakes, you need not purchase from us if you prefer to use your own disc brakes.
5) Supremely simple wire connection, wires exit the hub, so there's no need to worry about wire damage.
6) The regenerative braking is controlled by the brake levers.

GoldenMotor:

I understand that you sold the whole kit as described.
You can change the price and what you sell in that kit from now on, but should honor what you promised when you took our money.

Balderdash:

Thanks for the info.

I'm not too fussed that it doesn't come with the kit...they seem to cost less than a tenner & just want to have everything ready to go when the pie lands.

Is there a limit to the number of gears that will fit? Would a 7 speed like this fit?

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=300341724898

Or is a 6 speed the limit?

Thanks,
Jim

Bikemad:

Jim,

To fit a seven speed freewheel, you would need to spread the rear of your frame by approx 14mm and use 7mm spacers (or suitable washers) on both sides of the axle to ensure the wheel remains centred within the frame.

If you have a carbon fibre frame this will not be possible.
They don't advise bending aluminium frames either, although you might get away with it if you're lucky.
