Thanks for the info.

I'm not too fussed that it doesn't come with the kit...they seem to cost less than a tenner & just want to have everything ready to go when the pie lands.

Is there a limit to the number of gears that will fit? Would a 7 speed like this fit?

Or is a 6 speed the limit?

Thanks,
Jim

Jim,

The screw-on/freewheel design ran into problems with 8 sprockets.  7 should be OK if you're not too large.

Tell me this: If you order a 7 gear freewheel from ebay and they send you something else, would you fuss then?

Balderdash:

On the Magic Pie order page:

http://www.goldenmotor.com/magicpie/magicpie.html

it doesn't say that it is included, nor is it shown in the main picture - so I wasn't expecting one. Just wanted to check the issues with size.

If you bought a pie at the special price then you have to expect "early adopter" issues to a certain extent...as long as the main product does its job then I'll be happy!

Cheers,
Jim

Leslie:
My HSB36-r came with 5 gear sproket.  Ive only used two gears and pedal quite a bit.  Oh my bad, my hall sensor took a perminant holiday so I used the all gears one day in two yers.

If you only have a 10ah lithium battery and do more distance than the pack is worth then I see the point of all the gears.
