Title: MP3 Ignition Switch
Post by: jmeaghan on December 19, 2014, 01:45:16 AM
Hello I would like to add an ignition switch to my ebike as I have to continually unplug/replug it currently.  Would anyone be able to recommend one?  I have a MP3 48V system.

Cheers

I have these...

They are the ones that come with some of our aluminum cased  batteries.

Hello Gary,

Do you have a wiring diagram for the switch as I would like to buy one.

Thank you.

The switch is very easy to wire up as it only has a single pair of contacts which are used to make the connection on the positive lead between the battery and the controller as shown here:

Hello Alan sorry for the delayed response. Looking at the picture this appears to be a high voltage ignition switch for 48V.  Is that correct?  If so is this the one sold on the Goldenmotor website?

Thank you.

You're right Jeremy, it's the main battery power switch that is used on GM's 24V, 36V and 48V rack mounted batteries and Gary usually keeps these in stock:

You may have noticed that it also has a key activated locking pin that keeps the battery in place, but I don't suppose you are likely to use the battery locking function.

Hi everyone.

I appreciate this thread has been inactive for a while but I'm looking for a UK supplier of this keyswitch for my 48v battery. I have found it on the Canadian website but it's very expensive to post.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Thanks
Craig
