Title: How do I connect PI-200I USB cable to external controller BAC-281?
Post by: Junerijus on January 04, 2014, 06:11:47 PM
I have usb cable p200i for connection of internal Magic Pie 2 controller . Now I have external bac281 controller and want use the same cable. How should the wires be connected  and how make sure connections are made right way( for that I think  to check voltages with multimeter ) .
in case wiring wrong could that damage components inside controller or usb cable?

is there any limits to cable length as I intend use ~ 3-4 m of it .

Hi Junerijus and(https://i.imgur.com/evDSMvT.png)to the forum.

I don't think the colours of the wires inside the USB lead for the internal controllers will be the same as the external leads but here is a diagram showing the plug connections on my external controller programming cable:

The length of the cable should not be a problem, but an incorrect connection may cause damage to either the USB circuit board or the controller itself.

It might be safer and easier to purchase the correct USB programming cable and just use a standard USB extension lead to extend it. ;)
