Title: Car conversion, would the 10Kw motor be enough
Post by: Tokio69 on May 14, 2013, 03:31:49 PM
Hello Everyone,

I'm a new member and I'm looking arround to maybe start working with GM as a supplier.
I see that alot of buggy's and very light weighted vehicles are using this motor but how about a normal car that weighs about 800kg.
Maybe one motor wil not be enough and therefore i'm looking for some experienced guys to help me out.

Greetings

Tom

You may need to supply a bit more detail, there are many options, FWD /  RWD / AWD / 2WD, retaining the gearbox / diff, ratios, Auto / Manual, desired top speed, range requirements, remember you may be adding 200-500kg of batteries too preferably not inside the passenger compartment if they are Lead Acid.
You could have one motor on each rear wheel or one on every wheel too.

True, more details

RWD , variomatic gearbox, ratio 3.6/1 up to 14.22/1
desired speed if possible 120km/h
Batteries lifepo4 120V pack weight 130kg without case.
Car without gasoline stuff about 600kg
Range , as much as possible. Now choosing for a 100Ah batterypack for this concept car , all can go under the hood, nothing in the back.
