So my rig was down for almost three weeks, putting my 25year old mountain bike on subways and buses was becoming a lifestyle and I was really getting feshemult about the situation. The problem was figuring out what the problem was . Gary said to bring him the battery ... I booked a cargo van from Autoshare , and loaded my cargo/tandem bike ,both batteries and all cables .
I hooked up with Gary and his friend Blair ,
and we used some marats to connect a 12amp 48V battery that Gary had in stock .... ran like a charm all around the parking lot. There was a about 45 minutes of sunlight left so Gary suggested a test ride . I quickly etaped and zaptied the connections to the chainstay and we moved out the lakeside trails that these guys seem to know evey inch of .
Blair has an Etrike with 3 36V Batteries parallel wired that looks like something out of Harry Potter on a misty night . I watched him corner as the technique is quite a trick . He seemed dubious that my idea of an industrial tricycle with a MP on all three wheels as the ultimate winter machine is practical ....
Gary had the new MP3 rig on the website . I rode it a bit and it feels like the ebike version of a Harley , tons of torque . It feels very reliable...
Once it got dark it was all I could do to keep up on the trails. But once we found an open road I was able to open up both throttle and legs. Gary and Blair seemed impressed and both said that what I call moving out quite briskly is like a bullet.
Had to return the cargo van . So back to where we started . To make a long story short Gary took the 48V12amp back under warranty and
provided the new 48V/10amp and more than a few cables in exchange. I left a very happy camper and Gary and Blair headed west for some more trails.
A week later I've ridden thru rain and cold and the rig runs great . The new controller works way better on bumps and offroad, the wiring is more solid and I know much more about troubleshouting when problems occur. Also now quite convinced that what I've always said is true . It makes sense to buy from Gary because he stands behind the warranty on what he sells .
