We will officially launch MagicPie 3 in two weeks time. The new product is in production to have sufficient stock to meet demand upon release to market. Also we have to file patents before release. Sorry for keep you waiting.

ok
and has the  programming problem been resolved? when we wanted to get more amps suddenly we could get only 15A ?
that says : easy to change internal controller : is it a plug and play controller or is it a bit more complicated?
how many amps can give the controller?
is it a new controller?
beacause I love the MP bur the controller is not so good : I own 3 Magic Pies one internal controller and 2 external
and the 2 external  has broken down each once !
and is the controller of the Magic Pie 3 available not internal but external?
thanks
fred

Hey Yao, can you tell me if you can swap the stator assembly from the new model to suit the older (current) MP2?

Thanks

Considering the pie can take around 5kw of power and more peak it is a shame they don't have a higher power option, 60 volts x 35 amp controller is around 2kw, with external controller I'M running 3kw!

It would be nice if there was a temp sensor for the controller and the motor, and I hope they offer pie III with external controller option with temp sensor.

Come on GM tell us all about this motor!

But it's looking good so far!

All these issues from MP1 and MP2 have been addressed in MagicPie 3. That's why it took us about a year to complete development of MP3. It is totally new hub motor, new molds, new tooling. But we will keep producing MP2 as the cost of MP3 is higher.

It does look cool!

now that the news is out, how about giving us more information on specs, dimensions, and basically telling us what is different apart from the obvious?

Yet another promised release date.

According to my conversation with GM and you Yao, all dealers were to have the opportunity to have these motors in stock for the release. Since there are no MP3 on the water headed my way for weeks yet (if they ship when promised) it seems either the release date you are stating is wrong or the dealers have been fooled into investing 1000's of dollars on a promise that will not be kept. By the time the dealers recieve the product the excitment will be gone and GM will have scooped up all the first round sales with the dealers waiting for their stock. Day by day it gets more difficult to remain loyal to GM.

I wish I has said something sooner, I would have liked a wider rim with more spokes.

TO be honest, I love my pie, now that it has been stripped, rewired, modified etc.......

I have installed about 6 kits to customers this year, none of which have been GM motors...without some decent warranty backup from china, I could never recommend it to anyone.....

Half the problem isnt the motor, its the support from china....a lot of people are losing a lot of money having to cover this problem.....none of which are GM

Im not bitter though :)
Infineon lyen edition 12 Fet
Goldenmotor Magic pie rear ....2000 Watt peak
oh yea.....Im too fat :)...but cute, oh yea, im cute

you are right
but for me the MP is a good motor
the controller is not so good that's the problem
and the lack or no communication when something has broken down
if communication when we have trouble and a good controller were in the place when needed than for me it would be perfect

may be with MP 3  we will have a good surprise?

question to GM
what about the controller : can we change it easily with a kind of plug and play way ?
and what kind of battery suits the MP3 the best ? voltage and amps?
can we trust you when you say every problems have been resolved ? no new problems?
can you ensure the new Magic Pie is really MAGIC ?
and what about replacement internal controller ? do you sell them and then we replace it by ourselves when it fails or do we have to give the motor back to GM ?
or may be that never fails?
thanks

There is a multiple pin socket on internal for plug and connect to motor easily. Rider can replace the controller. All complained problems have been resolved and tested. So you can expect a significantly improved new generation of bike conversion kit. That is MagicPie 3.
