Magic PIE 3 new out of the box grinds

Hello everybody,

please let met introduce myself.. I'm Erwin from the Netherlands and building a cargo bike with an Magic Pie 3 26 inch in the rear wheel.
i've got the following problem with my MP3, it's not running smooth and it's making an sort of grinding sound.
I have got no refference so I do not now how it sounds normally.
Can any one help me with this?

How is the sound? Is the sound very obvious in motor? You can try ,Motor no-load, When motor slow down and stop,Whether there is a clean and grinding sound.
I think may be there is the rub ?the cover and iron core of motor.

Hello looks like it's scratching at the aluminium cooling fan.
At this moment it looks like I have to ship it back to my local supplier.

Hi andto the forum.

If you have fitted a brake disc with bolts that are too long, they could rub against the heat sink cover inside the cooling fan.
